MASONRY

Star Lodge 115

We are the Masons. We believe in helping others. We believe there is more to life than pleasure and money. We respect the opinions of others. And we all want to grow and develop as human beings. Masons are moral, honest men who work together to improve themselves and their communities. Our motto is “friendship, morality, and brotherly love.”

Masonry and You

Are there things you want to accomplish in your life? Are there ways you want to enrich yourself? Do you enjoy being with people you like and respect? As a Mason, you’ll find friendship and fraternity. You’ll develop life skills like self-confidence, leadership, and effective communication. You’ll learn to work as part of a team — and to better yourself as you help others.  Think about becoming one today!

  • How to Become A Mason

Membership is open to men age 18 and older who believe in a Supreme Being and meet the qualifications and standards. Men of all ethnic and religious backgrounds are welcome.

One of Masonry's traditions is that we do not solicit members. Men must seek membership on their own initiative. When you're ready to join, you have two choices. You can either request assistance in joining by filling out the request information form and someone will contact you regarding membership or you can follow the steps below and do it on your own:

  • Qualifications

  • Membership in a Masonic Lodge is open to all men 18 years of age or older — regardless of race, color, or religion. Our membership requirements are very clear:

  • You must be of good character and reputation. You’ll have to provide evidence of living a positive life through references from at least one Mason and three other people.

  • You must believe in a Supreme Being and the immortality of the soul. This belief is not proscribed — rather, we encourage you to be steadfast in the faith of your choice.

  • The First Steps

Start the process by completing a (petition (application) for membership, which you can download from this site, or get from a Mason you know.

The next step is to submit your petition to the Lodge you want to join. The petition is read in a Lodge meeting and referred to a committee (usually composed of three members). This committee then interviews you — usually right in your home, so that your family can ask any questions that they may have.

After the interview, the committee reports its findings to the Lodge, and a secret ballot is taken.  If the vote is favorable, you’ll be notified and you’ll be given a date to start the degree program.
